Previously, he served as Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia during President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's Kabinet Indonesia Bersatu II. Wirjawan is the founder of Ancora Group and Ancora Foundation and founding partner at Ikhlas Capital. He was also the head of the Badminton Association of Indonesia from 2012 to 2016.
